Starting Grid
The lineup of cars at the starting line of a race. Starting grid's are often marked on the track by a | or ] symbol and are staggered down the straight away. Your car must sit at this line until the race director says go or the buzzer sounds. Some tracks switch the order of the cars by reversing the lineup. For example, if you were in the second grid in the front for the first heat, you would then be in the second-to-last grid for the second heat, then the second in the front for the third heat.
