Ball Differential

The main gear inside the transmission which has small balls inside the gear to help it roll smoothly against two metal rings, which are sometimes called D-rings. A ball differential can be tightened for rock crawling, and loosened for tracks with a lot of turns, or bashing around. A ball differential will slip, rather than strip gears like a planetary differential would.
